Starting July 2026, Moffitt Cancer Center has 2 training slots for our Surgical Oncology Research Fellowship. Candidates will spend a 2-year hiatus from General Surgery residency training (usually after PGY 2 or PGY 3 is completed) or after a completion of a CGSO fellowship, again for 2 years. The program provides and immersive clinical research opportunity with up to 20% clinic and OR experience. No call, no nights or weekends. Moonlighting is allowed at the discretion of the program director as long as it doesn’t interfere with the fellows’ research at Moffitt Cancer Center.
Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident to qualify and must be a categorical resident in an ACGME surgical training program with a written commitment from the residency program to accept them back after 2 years. Salary is commensurate with PGY level and medical benefits are provided, along with education funding for conference travel, textbooks and any research related expenses.
To apply, individuals should provide a curriculum vitae and letter of intent detailing career goals in academic surgery no later than November 14, 2025. Interested individuals should contact: Cortney.Bruce@Moffitt.org (Education Coordinator) and Jonathan.Zager@moffitt.org (Fellowship Program Director).
