Description
Boston Medical Center (BMC) and the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine are jointly recruiting a Director of Breast Surgery to lead the breast surgery program for the Boston Medical Center Health System. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished surgeon who is fellowship trained in breast surgery and/or surgical oncology, or who has had significant clinical experience as a breast surgeon. Candidates must be board-certified. Additional interest in other areas of surgical oncology and/or general surgery is welcomed but not required.
The successful candidate will have experience serving in a leadership role within a school of medicine and/or a major teaching hospital. They will oversee comprehensive care for patients with benign and malignant breast disease across the recently expanded Boston Medical Center Health System, which includes BMC, a 514-bed academic medical center located in Boston’s historic South End, and two community hospitals, BMC – Brighton in Brighton, Mass. and BMC – South in Brockton, Mass. The successful candidate will join a growing Surgical Oncology division that currently includes six surgeons and four advanced practice providers. In addition to providing the highest quality care across the full spectrum of breast disease, the Surgical Oncology team prioritizes the training, education, and mentorship of residents and medical students, and improving care through original research.

The salary range for this position is $328,174 – $808,091. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and departmental budget. This hiring range represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Boston University conducts a background check on all final candidates for certain faculty and staff positions.
